Multimodality vendor Siemens Healthcare of Malvern, PA, and MRI coil developer SurgiVision of Baltimore have signed an agreement for the commercialization of a real-time MRI-guided cardiac electrophysiology (EP) system.
The companies are collaborating with the University of Utah to develop an integrated EP MRI system to improve conventional catheter-based cardiac procedures through the use of image-guided ablation to treat patients suffering from cardiac arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation, in particular.
