Interventional technology firm Medtronic has pledged $1 million to support earthquake relief in Haiti, according to the Minneapolis-based firm.
The company is making the donation through its Medtronic Foundation, which will match employee donations up to $250,000 and direct these matching funds to Partners in Health. An additional $750,000 in grants will be directed to the rebuilding of healthcare infrastructure in Haiti.
The foundation is currently assessing potential nonprofit partners to lead its efforts, and Medtronic employees worldwide also are offered five days of paid leave to assist in recovery efforts, the company said.
