Bard posts Q4 results

Interventional technology provider C. R. Bard of Murray Hill, NJ, has posted financial results for the fourth quarter of 2009 (end-December 31).

For the period, net sales were $676.9 million, up 7% compared to $634.2 million for the same period of 2008. Net sales for full-year 2009 were $2.53 billion, up 3% compared to $2.45 billion in 2008.

For the fourth quarter, income from continuing operations was $105.8 million, a decrease of 29% compared to the $150.3 million reported in fourth-quarter 2008 results. For the full-year 2009, income from continuing operations was $461.4 million, an increase of 10% compared to the $419.3 million for the full year in 2008.
