Bard sales climb in Q2

Interventional technology provider C. R. Bard of Murray Hill, NJ, has posted financial results for the second quarter of 2010 (end-June 30).

For the period, net sales were $673.9 million, an increase of 8% over $624.6 million in 2009. U.S. net sales for the quarter were $464.9 million, up 7% compared to $433.6 million in the same period last year. Also in the second quarter, net income was $124.6 million, an increase of 11% compared to $112.2 million in 2009.

For the six months ended June 30, Bard's net sales were $1.3 billion, up 8% compared with $1.2 billion during the same period the previous year.
