PET developer Positron has retained a strategic advisor to help the company refine its strategy in the nuclear medicine and molecular imaging market.
Positron has retained I-Squared Ventures, a boutique growth strategy firm based in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I-Squared specializes in advising ventures ranging from large public companies to private firms in the healthcare, insurance, and technology industries.
Positron President Adel Abdullah said the company is at an "inflection point" and is in position to capitalize on the improving environment for PET technology. The company should be able to improve its market share as the medical imaging transitions from SPECT to PET systems, according to Chiranjeev "CJ" Bordoloi, PhD, managing partner of I-Squared.
Positron's technology enables the company to offer PET systems at a price point comparable to SPECT scanners, Bordoloi said.
