GE HealthCare (GEHC) plans to install its 100th Omni Legend digital PET/CT in the U.S. at the newly completed University of Wisconsin (UW) Health Eastpark Medical Center in Madison.
Additionally, less than a year after joining the Wisconsin BioHealth Tech Hub, GE HealthCare is advancing the first North American production line for the system in Waukesha, WI. This initiative, designated and funded by the U.S. Department of Commerce and led by BioForward Wisconsin, leverages the state's healthcare assets to expand manufacturing, data sharing, and lab space while advancing breakthroughs in genomics, imaging, and big data analytics to meet future demands in theranostics and personalized care.
GE HealthCare’s Omni Legend PET/CT uses a digital detector system to produce more than two times the sensitivity of prior digital scanners, the company said. It also has the ability to image tracers for the practice of theranostics as well as dynamic protocols. It also includes AI-enhanced features to help encourage greater image quality and operational efficiency, including Precision DL and autopositioning.
