GE HealthCare (GEHC) has launched its new Pristina Via mammography system designed to enhance the breast screening experience for both technologists and patients.
Pristina Via represents a significant evolution in the Senographe Pristina platform and offers the following new features:
- Zero-click acquisition functionality
- No wait time between exposures
- Vendor-neutral prior image comparison
- Lowest radiation dose used for all breast thicknesses
Enhancements to Pristina will help minimize repetitive tasks and streamline workflows so that mammography technologists can maintain their focus on providing quality and personalized care, according to GE HealthCare.
Citing data from the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) that highlights an increase in technologist vacancy rates -- from 6% three years ago to 18% in 2024 -- GE HealthCare said the number of women seeking mammograms has remained steady, but vacancies result in a gap in care.
Pristina Via will debut at the RSNA 2024 meeting in Chicago.
