Radiopharmaceutical manufacturer International Isotopes is closing down operations on its linear accelerator and is reducing its workforce by approximately 20%, the company said. As part of the reduction, the Denton, TX-based firm expects to save more than $600,000 per month.
The company will continue to produce brachytherapy seeds, iodine-123, fluorine-18, and several other radiopharmaceuticals. The vendor’s radiopharmaceutical service division will not be affected by the shutdown, according to International Isotopes.
