Mobile PET Systems has created Molecular Imaging, a wholly owned subsidiary that will develop stationary PET centers through partnership agreements with healthcare facilities.
San Diego-based Mobile PET said it sees fixed-site imaging becoming a significant portion of its overall growth. Paul Crowe, the company’s president and CEO, said that until recently, low scan volumes and negative cash flow kept stationary sites at a low priority for the company. With expanded reimbursement for PET indications, however, there has been increased utilization of the technology, Crowe said.
Jim Corlett, formerly director of operations for Mobile PET Systems, will assume management responsibility for stationary facility development as senior vice president, business development of Molecular Imaging.
