Siemens installs first Biograph system

The nuclear medicine group of Siemens Medical Solutions of Hoffman Estates, IL, has completed the first commercial installation of its Biograph hybrid CT/PET system. The unit was installed at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.

Biograph combines a Siemens multislice CT system with a high-end PET camera. Hybrid systems like Biograph are useful in collecting both functional and anatomical data in a single scan, according to the company
