Radioisotope manufacturer International Isotopes of Idaho Falls, ID, has completed the construction and initial operational testing of a new fluorine extraction process plant.
The firm said it will begin fluoride gas production and work toward providing qualification samples to obtain supply contracts. In addition to the fluoride gases, International Isotopes said it believes there may be markets for byproducts of the fluorine extraction process, such as depleted uranium oxides.
