Cardiac imaging device developer CardiArc has received Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance for its cardiac SPECT gamma camera.
The CardiArc system employs solid-state cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) technology, and fits easily into a 6 x 7-foot exam room, according to the Lubbock, TX-based vendor. It has no moving parts, runs on 100 volts of AC power, and has scan times ranging from two to six minutes at physician discretion, CardiArc said. Patients sit upright, without rotating or holding arms over their heads, the company said.
