Cardinal Health of Dublin, OH, has inked an agreement with a Tennessee healthcare network to manage a cyclotron facility in Knoxville.
ProVision Healthcare of Knoxville selected Cardinal for the facility, which is part of the East Tennessee Healthcare Center and is located near Cardinal Health's existing nuclear pharmacy, also in Knoxville. The agreement allows Cardinal to expand its capability to manufacture molecular imaging biomarkers, Cardinal said.
The deal brings Cardinal's cyclotron facilities in Tennessee to two. The Knoxville plant will also support clinical trials that evaluate the effectiveness of new PET imaging agents, according to Cardinal.
