ISCT video stream starts Sunday; more news from SNMMI 2012

Dear AuntMinnie Member,

We're pleased to announce a new collaboration with the International Society for Computed Tomography (ISCT) that will bring you live streaming video of the society's International Symposium on Multidetector-Row CT in San Francisco.

Starting on Sunday, June 17, you'll be able to view every presentation from the ISCT meeting on your computer from the comfort of your home or office. You'll get direct access to high-quality talks on CT technology, ranging from radiation dose management to new applications in cutting-edge areas such as coronary CT angiography.

What's more, you'll be able to submit questions to ISCT presenters that can be answered in real-time. You can even get CME for your efforts, just by clicking through to the meeting's CME provider.

So mark your calendars for June 17-20 starting at 7 a.m. Pacific time each day -- streaming video will be available at isct.auntminnie.com.

More news from SNMMI 2012

The Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) conference has just wrapped up in Miami Beach, FL, and we're featuring more news from the show in our Molecular Imaging Digital Community.

Researchers from the University of Washington were able to cut FDG dose in PET studies by 50% without adversely affecting diagnostic performance. There is little standardization in FDG protocols for PET exams, so the group analyzed different acquisition times and their effect on image quality. Learn what they discovered by clicking here.

In another study, researchers from Johns Hopkins University compared sodium fluoride (NaF) PET/CT scans to those acquired with FDG to detect bone metastases in patients with breast cancer.

They found that NaF-PET/CT had some properties that might make it a better choice for these patients, particularly in cases of restaging. Get the rest of the story by clicking here, or visit the Molecular Imaging Digital Community at molecular.auntminnie.com.
