Nonprofit healthcare system Illinois Health and Science (IHS) will acquire a cyclotron network operated in North America by proton therapy provider Ion Beam Applications (IBA).
IBA Molecular North America is a U.S. subsidiary of IBA Molecular. The acquisition includes all of IBA Molecular North America's cyclotron sites and development facilities, IBA said.
Details of the transaction, which is subject to financing, have not been disclosed. The transaction is expected to have a significant financial effect on IBA's 2015 profit and loss at closing in the coming months.
