Nuclear medical imaging device firm Positrigo of Zurich, Switzerland, has closed a financing round valued at 7 million Swiss francs ($8.5 million U.S.).
With lead investors HealthCap and Navivo Capital in Europe, the company plans to accelerate production of its NeuroLF system for functional brain imaging using PET and focus on commercial rollout in the U.S. and Europe. The device has gained market clearance in the U.S. and EU.
NeuroLF helps diagnose and monitor brain disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, tumors, epilepsy, and Parkinson's disease, the company said. Patients can undergo a brain scan in a seated position.
In its announcement, the company also noted the addition of HealthCap partner Max Odlander; Ajit Singh, PhD, of Artiman Ventures; and Didier Deltort, formerly of GE HealthCare, to its board of directors.
