Siemens Healthineers and Houston Methodist Hospital have signed a multiyear imaging technology and research agreement.
Siemens will outfit the Houston Methodist Research Institute with new angiography, MRI, CT, molecular imaging, ultrasound, and imaging IT systems. A focal point will be two interventional suites that incorporate a traditional hybrid CT/angiography suite with new imaging technology advances, according to the vendor.
In addition, the organizations will conduct joint research at the institute, including efforts on an investigational 7-tesla MRI scanner that will be installed by Siemens for research purposes only. The company said that Siemens engineers will work at the institute on new imaging advancements with researchers from around the medical center.
Siemens has also been named a primary provider of diagnostic imaging equipment to all Houston Methodist campuses. Under the deal, Siemens will provide a comprehensive coverage model, including onsite service engineers, a dedicated service manager, and onsite research scientists.
