New conference will explore MEG, fMRI

The integration of magnetoencephalography (MEG) with functional MRI (fMRI) will be the topic of a conference starting today in Albuquerque.

The meeting is being hosted by the National Foundation for Functional Brain Imaging (NFFBI) and will include presentations on topics such as using MEG and fMRI to research mental illness, or to view changes in brain function when individuals perform motor tasks.

Both MEG and fMRI are emerging technologies that are proving particularly useful in imaging the brain. The NFFBI believes that using MEG and fMRI together could result in an even more powerful research tool.
