Toshiba America Medical Systems has shipped its 300th Opart open MRI system. The Tustin, CA-based vendor debuted the 0.35-tesla, cryogenless scanner three years ago. The milestone scanner was sent to Toshiba’s sister company, Toshiba Medical Systems Europe, where it will be delivered to a facility in Italy.
This system will include Toshiba’s version 3.3 software, an 80-cm motorized patient couch, and a flat-panel monitor. It also has multichannel-array electronics, peripheral pulse gating, and 10 standard coils, including the QD/array neck coil, large and extra-large body coils, an extremity coil, a shoulder array coil, and a flexible small-parts coil, according to Toshiba.
