Medrad adapts Spectris for mobile use

Contrast injector provider Medrad has adapted its Spectris MR injection system for use in mobile MR trailers. The new mobile configuration of Spectris has a space-saving base plate that secures the injector to the wall, and a transportation clamp that also secures the injector head to the wall for easy and safe transport, according to the Indianola, PA-based firm.

The injector is compatible with mobile trailers from the four major manufacturers -- Calumet Coach, Medical Coaches, AK Associates, and Ellis & Watts, according to Medrad. The mobile configuration is currently set up for new mobile scanners; customized installations for installed mobile MR scanners are planned for the future, according to the vendor.

The Spectris mobile configuration is currently available in North America. It will be released in Europe, Latin America, and Japan at a later date.
