HCG introduces transportable, modular MRI units

HCG Building Technologies said it has expanded its product line with the introduction of transportable modular MRI buildings.

The modular units feature negligible onsite installation disruption, express equipment ramp-up, and a steel-frame structure, according to HCG of Ceres, CA. The firm said that each transportable MRI unit arrives at its destination with the MRI equipment completely installed and ready to perform upon system calibration.

The first HCG transportable modular MRI facility is a 15 x 48-foot structure that includes the patient scanning and control rooms, patient prep area, technologist workstation, and telecommunications area, the company said. The unit will house an Achieva 1.5-tesla system from Philips Medical Systems of Andover, MA.
