RSD debuts new phantom

Anthropomorphic phantom provider Radiology Support Devices (RSD) has introduced a new breathing phantom.

The breathing phantom torso mannequin is a plastic simulation of a human torso, including lungs, rib cage/chest-wall bone, skin, and subdermis, as well as an independently movable tumor within one of the lung volumes, according to the Long Beach, CA-based vendor.

Using programmed application of increasing and decreasing air pressure, the phantom's lungs fill and empty air to replicate human lung function, RSD said.
