Analog Devices (ADI) of Norwood, MA, has unveiled a new digital-to-analog converter (DAC) that would allow MRI systems to see smaller anatomical structures and abnormalities, such as breast cancer cells.
ADI's AD5791 20-bit converter features 1-ppm (parts per million) resolution, which is designed to achieve four times greater accuracy and four times more resolution than other converters, ADI said.
The technology also enables enhanced control of the magnetic gradient in high field strength applications and produces greater image resolution and contrast, according to the company.
