Invivo debuts wireless MRI monitoring

MR technology provider Invivo of Orlando, FL, has launched a new wireless MRI patient monitoring system.

Expression delivers an improved level of vital-signs performance during every sequence, according to Invivo. It also includes an advanced body temperature feature for internal esophageal, rectal, nasal, or surface temperature measurement.

Expression's Quick Connect accessories extend hospital infection control procedures and standards to MRI, and the system features disposable sensors for every vital sign, including temperature and SpO2, to fight cross-contamination and the spread of infectious disease such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Invivo said.

Expression also includes an electrode fail indicator that notifies clinicians if an electrode loses connection with the patient; wireless SpO2 monitoring that utilizes the same SpO2 used in OR/ICU/NICU monitors to ensure precise values for saturation, low and high perfusion, and motion; and active trend arrows that provide a visual representation of vital-signs trends so physicians can assess patient status while also monitoring live readings, the company said.
