GE Healthcare of Chalfont St. Giles, U.K., Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, and the Davis Heart and Lung Institute of Ohio State University were awarded $1 million for MRI and devices for the Pediatrics Population project.
GEHC Coils, a wholly owned, Ohio-based subsidiary of parent company General Electric of Stamford, CT, is partnering with clinicians and researchers at the two facilities to design, build, and validate new pediatric coils for use in the head, heart, and other anatomies, as well as new technology for surgical MR pediatric fixation.
The Pediatrics Population project, funded by the Third Frontier program through the state of Ohio, is intended to address the lack of pediatric MRI coils and surgical stabilization devices with integrated imaging coils.
