Royal Philips Electronics has established a five-year agreement with St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix to pursue research to help advance MRI technology.
The majority of the research, which will be conducted at the Barrow Neurological Institute, will focus on developing new neurological MRI applications. One goal will be to develop technologies that can accelerate the speed of MRI scans, a capability expected to reduce the cost and duration of studies.
As part of the five-year agreement, Philips Healthcare will install an Ingenia 3-tesla MRI scanner in a research lab of the neurological institute.
