The Medical Imaging and Technology Alliance (MITA) is praising bipartisan efforts by the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources in its hearing today on the Helium Stewardship Act of 2012 (S 2374).
In testimony today before the committee, Tom Rauch, GE Healthcare's global sourcing manager for servicing and aftermarket solutions, endorsed the legislation, which lays out a resource management strategy for the Federal Helium Reserve, MITA said. Liquid helium is used to cool MRI magnets to temperatures suitable for imaging.
