Toshiba America Medical Systems has incorporated capability for visualizing cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) on its Vantage Titan 1.5-tesla and 3-tesla MR scanners.
With Toshiba's time-spatial labeling inversion pulse (Time-SLIP) noncontrast technique, CSF flow disorders such as normal pressure hydrocephalus, Chiari malformations, and subarachnoid cysts can be visualized on MR, according to the vendor.
Time-SLIP uses a specialized MRI sequence to acquire a series of single-shot images for visualizing CSF flow without using contrast, Toshiba said.
