Toshiba America Medical Systems said that it's extending its Aplio 500 Smart Fusion ultrasound technology to MRI.
Smart Fusion now syncs previously acquired CT or MR images with live ultrasound to display them side by side on a single screen. The technology is designed to help locate lesions and aid in ultrasound-guided procedures without additional CT fluoroscopy or MRI exams, according to the vendor.
Toshiba plans to showcase Smart Fusion at next week's Society of Interventional Radiology annual meeting in New Orleans.
