Siemens Healthcare has installed the first of its Magnetom Prisma 3-tesla MRI units at a U.S. research center.
The Center for Magnetic Resonance Research (CMRR) at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis has obtained the scanner to support its research efforts to obtain better information about anatomical connections within the brain.
The device features Siemens' XR gradients, which combine a gradient strength of 80 mT/m with a 200-T/m/sec slew rate in one sequence, according to the company.
