The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) has released a new white paper that describes MRI best practices for technologists.
Topics covered in the guidance include the need for MR-trained personnel to monitor staff working in safety zones, documenting safety screenings and making sure patients have no metal objects on or in their clothing, and performing device safety checks.
The paper is the result of a survey of more than 2,600 MR technologists conducted in August 2017 and a review of best practices conducted by an ASRT MR safety committee, the organization said.
