Siemens Healthineers and the University of Missouri health network have established the Alliance for Precision Health, a 10-year agreement to collaborate on joint goals for research, innovation, education, and healthcare delivery.

Researchers from the health network will use Siemens' technological and educational resources -- including its advanced medical imaging equipment -- to support patient care, innovative research projects, and educational programs for students, according to the organizations. The partnership will also promote the research, educational, and clinical care goals of the Missouri NextGen Precision Health Initiative.

Per the agreement, Siemens will set up its syngo Virtual Cockpit software throughout the hospital network and install its Magnetom Terra 7-tesla MRI scanner at the hospital's NextGen Precision Health Institute.

The partnership agreement holds an estimated value of $133 million, Siemens said. The organizations plan to offer additional contributions to their alliance in amounts of up to $40 million.
