Advanced visualization software firm Imaging Biometrics is touting the recognition of its IB Neuro software for use as a national standard for identifying high-grade brain tumors on MRI scans.
IB Neuro performs quantitative analysis of MRI dynamic susceptibility contrast (DSC) studies, a common perfusion MRI exam for evaluating brain tumors. Imaging Biometrics said that the software was included in the findings of a subcommittee on standardizing a DSC MRI protocol that was published in the journal Neuro-Oncology.
Imaging Biometrics believes that MRI-DSC imaging has been plagued by inconsistencies and suboptimal methods for acquiring and processing DSC-MRI scans. This results in mixed opinions regarding its usefulness. IB Neuro overcomes these limitations, according to the company.
