The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared GE Healthcare's 5-mL glass vial packaging for Clariscan, the company's macrocyclic gadolinium-based MRI contrast agent.
The agent is already available in 10-mL, 15-mL, and 20-mL glass vials; 10-mL, 15-mL, and 20-mL plastic prefilled syringes; and in the firm's 100-mL +PlusPak pharmacy bulk package.
Clariscan is used for MRI in the brain, spine, and associated tissues in both adult and pediatric patients, according to GE.
