Canadian orthopedic medical device developer Emovi will launch a new device for dynamic functional knee exams at the RSNA 2021 annual meeting.
The KneeKG device was designed to complement x-ray and MRI by helping overcome limitations of static information for the management of knee osteoarthritis, ligament injuries, anterior knee pain, and for preoperative and postoperative total knee replacement programs, Emovi said.
Described as a knee "kinesiography" by the company, KneeKG exams specifically define biomechanical dysfunctions, including any dynamic varus/valgus malalignment and thrust that may cause stress on the cartilage at loading. The device comes with cloud-based software that allows radiologists to generate objective consultation reports for referring physicians, Emovi said.
