Portable MRI technology developer Hyperfine has received a medical device license from Health Canada for its Swoop scanner.
The license for the portable MRI system also includes Hyperfine's deep learning-based image reconstruction software, which recently received U.S. Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance. Hyperfine said that the commercial launch of the system in Canada will be led by Casey Newhouse, who has joined the company as business development partnership manager.
