The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared Esaote North America's Magnifico Open MRI scanner. The scanner is now available for purchase in the U.S.

- Speed Up: This feature helps ensure optimal diagnostic image quality and reduces examination times.
- True-Motion: A real-time joint imaging feature designed ideally for sports medicine injuries.
- Metal Artifact Reduction: This option was designed to improve image quality for postsurgical patients with metal implants.
Ultimately, the Magnifico Open was designed for patient comfort, said Stephen Gibbs, manager of MRI sales and marketing for Esaote North America, in a news release. The scanner has an open-gantry design ideal for imaging children or large and claustrophobic patients, he said.
In addition, the compact size of the new MRI scanner is uniquely suited for hospitals, imaging centers, and in-office clinics, Gibbs added.
