Cancer therapy firm Varian Medical Systems has formed a strategic partnership with optx, a developer of oncology treatment management software. Under the terms of the agreement, Palo Alto, CA-based Varian will offer optx's medical oncology management software as a VARiS MedOncology module.
The module, which will replace earlier versions of VARiS MedOncology software, will be part of Varian's Generation 6 suite of oncology information products. Varian will immediately begin marketing and distributing the optx software on a worldwide basis. Denver-based optx will provide installation and training for customers, as well as ongoing service and support, according to the vendors.
