The Society for Radiation Oncology Administrators (SROA) has selected the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) to manage its business operations, the ASRT said.
Beginning January 1, 2002, the ASRT will handle all of the Oak Brook, IL-based SROA's administrative functions, including maintenance of its member database, dues processing, CE credit tracking, and preparation of financial statements. These functions were previously handled by the Chicago-based Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).
The organizations are working to ensure a seamless transition, said Lynn May, CEO of the Albuquerque, NM-based ASRT. SROA president John Felton said that while the SROA will continue to be guided by its own board of directors, committees, and members, it may collaborate with the ASRT on projects of mutual interest.
The SROA's board of directors had issued a request for proposals for management services, and was impressed by the ASRT's capabilities and resources, according to Felton. The SROA will be the first outside organization to be managed by the ASRT.
