Nomos launches remote IMRT service

Intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) developer Nomos of Sewickley, PA, has launched Nomos Rx, a remote treatment-planning service developed to provide treatment facilities with more rapid access to IMRT.

The service retrieves images or plan data relating to a potential patient treatment, develops the IMRT treatment and quality assurance plan using the company’s Corvus inverse-treatment planning software, then sends the plan back to the customer for approval, testing, and delivery.

In addition to its remote IMRT planning capability, Nomos Rx will also offer in-depth training on treatment delivery, verification, and quality assurance procedures, according to the firm.
