Radiation therapy firm Varian Medical Systems has made several management moves. President of oncology systems Tim Guertin has been tapped as executive vice president, and will also retain his current responsibilities, according to the Palo Alto, CA-based vendor.
Meanwhile, corporate vice president John Ford has been named senior vice president, oncology systems. He will be responsible for facilitating major customer, government, and partnering initiatives, according to Varian.
Vice president of oncology systems Jeff Marcus will assume responsibility for Varian's worldwide sales organization. Reporting to Marcus will be vice president, North American sales, oncology systems Paul Rowland, who will head up the company’s sales organization in the U.S. and Canada.
The medical manufacturing operations of the oncology systems unit will be combined under the direction of corporate vice president and vice president, oncology systems Keith Krugman. Elaine McKinley has been appointed vice president, oncology systems customer support, and will report to Krugman.
Product engineering and marketing functions will now be directed by vice president, oncology systems Kolleen Kennedy. Vice president, worldwide engineering, oncology systems Ueli Graf will report to Kennedy.
In another shift, William Hyatt, vice president and general manager of Varian's brachytherapy business, will report directly to president and CEO Richard Levy. He will also take on expanded management responsibilities for global sales and service, Varian said.
