Radiation therapy firm Varian Medical Systems has received Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance for Acuity, an imaging system that integrates planning, simulation, and verification software for radiation therapy. Acuity, which pairs a high-resolution x-ray tube and an amorphous silicon flat-panel detector, can dynamically track tumor motion during the simulation and verification process, according to the Palo Alto, CA-based vendor.
