Mentor to buy ProstaSeed maker Mills

Mentor of Santa Barbara, CA, has reached an agreement to acquire Mills Biopharmaceuticals of Oklahoma City, OK. Mills manufactures ProstaSeed I-125 brachytherapy seeds for the treatment of prostate cancer.

Mills is the third largest U.S. supplier of I-125 seeds, which have been commercially available since April 1999. Mills will manufacture ProstaSeed I-125 for distribution by Mentor after expiration on January 1, 2003 of an existing contract with North American Scientific of Chatsworth, CA.
