Swedish radiation oncology firm Elekta of Stockholm has inked a deal to buy 80% of the equity of Chinese radiation therapy equipment supplier BMEI.
Elekta will pay $20 million (U.S.) in cash for the stake in Changping-based BMEI, which has an installed base of around 260 units and annual revenue of around $9 million.
The deal is contingent upon approval from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and other closing conditions.
