Elekta notches Toronto contract

Swedish radiation therapy firm Elekta has sold two of its Synergy linear accelerators, as well as an oncology PACS from Impac Medical Systems of Mountain View, CA, an Elekta company, to Toronto Sunnybrook Regional Cancer Centre.

Stockholm-based Elekta said the linear accelerators were procured under a recently signed four-year purchase agreement with Cancer Care Ontario, an agency that advises the Ontario government on cancer care. The Toronto facility already has Impac's oncology information management system, and will extend its capability with the firm's PACS, Elekta said.
