A decrease in product sales from fewer eXplore Optix systems sold in North America led to reduced revenues for Canadian optical molecular imaging developer ART Advanced Research Technologies in 2006.
Revenues in 2006 were $3.1 million (U.S.), compared with $4.1 million in 2005. The net loss for 2006 was $8.7 million, compared with $13.1 million in 2005.
In the fourth quarter (end-December 31), revenues were $629,000, compared with $1.2 million in the fourth quarter of 2005. Net income was $1.4 million, compared with a net loss of $3.3 million for the three-month period ended December 31, 2005.
