Radiation therapy developer Varian Medical Systems of Palo Alto, CA, has signed a licensing deal with Cedara Software, a division of radiology informatics and advanced visualization developer Merge Healthcare of Milwaukee.
The deal gives Varian exclusive rights to Cedara's I-Response software in the radiation and medical oncology market. I-Response analyzes how cancerous tumors respond to treatment, and enables clinicians to track cellular and metabolic changes over time.
I-Response has received 510(k) clearance, and Cedara expects a commercial release in June 2007.
