CMS unveils deals, FDA submission

Radiation treatment planning firm CMS of St. Louis will provide treatment planning support for a new single-room proton beam radiotherapy system being developed by Still River Systems of Littleton, MA.

The two companies will collaborate on the integration of CMS's XiO treatment planning system with Still River Systems' Clinatron 250 proton treatment system currently in development.

CMS also has been selected by cancer treatment provider ProCure Treatment Centers to provide proton radiotherapy and proton therapy software for ProCure's center in Oklahoma City, OK.

In addition, CMS has applied to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for 510(k) clearance to distribute its new Monaco IMRT (intensity-modulated radiation therapy) planning system in the U.S. The software has the CE Mark for marketing in Europe. The first installations are scheduled for this summer.
