Varian adds PaxScan models

Radiation therapy firm Varian Medical Systems will debut two new version of its PaxScan line of digital x-ray detectors at next week's 2007 RSNA meeting in Chicago.

PaxScan 4336R is a 14 x 17-inch detector and is designed to replace a standard film cassette for use in radiographic applications, according to the Palo Alto, CA-based vendor. Another new entrant, PaxScan 4343R, is a 17 x 17-inch detector and is designed for permanent mounting in radiographic tables or wall stands, Varian said. It's also suitable for any application that requires a large field-of-view, according to the company.

Both panels come bundled with Varian's Viva software.
