Topex of Danbury, CT, has signed a distribution agreement with Radiology Oncology Systems of San Diego and Acceletronics of Exton, PA.
The deal covers sales and service of Topex's superficial radiotherapy system, SRT 100, designed for the treatment of nonmelanoma skin cancer.
The pact includes exclusive territory distribution in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, and Pennsylvania. The contract also covers Mexico, Caribbean countries, and Central and South America.
The SRT 100 system is designed as an alternative to surgery for treating basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas, especially for primary lesions requiring surgery with sensitive structures in the head and neck regions -- such as the fold in the nose, eyelids, lips, corner of the mouth, and the lining of the ear -- that would otherwise lead to a poor cosmetic outcome.
